A delighted Andy Murray reached his fifth ever Australian Open final with an epic five-set battle. The top tennis player from Britain defeated 13th seed Mils Raonic 4-6, 7-5, 6-7(4-7), 6-4, 6-2 to now face, defending champion Novak Djokovic in the finals, to be played this Sunday.

After the four hour gruelling clash, Murray said, “It was tough in that third set. In the tie-break he didn’t miss a single serve and it was frustrating when you don’t get a say in the points. Over the match. I got a better read on his serve and that was crucial”.

Novak Djokovic on the other hand has maintained his dominance, defeating the Swiss tennis legend, Roger Federer 6-1, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3. Novak really left no space for Roger to gain an upper hand, going up by two sets to nil, in just under an hour.

After the win Novak said, “Well, I have had matches where I played similar tennis. But against Roger, these first two sets have been probably the best two sets I have played against him over all, I think, throughout my career”.

With this win, the No. 1 tennis player now hold a 23-22 lead over Roger Federer and for the first time a career lead over all his current top rivals. Novak attributed his great form to his rivals saying, “Both Roger and Nadal have contributed a lot to my career and to my success. Because of these two rivals I have had and playing those two guys hundreds times combined, it’s obviously made me a better player. I have worked hard to get myself to a position to challenge them. It was not easy, but right now I am feeling at the peak of my career”.

Novak would be looking for another Grand Slam title with the kind of supreme form he is in. Andy Murray is determined to changed history this time around, who has been a runner-up at Australia in all the four previous instances. Experts and general fans believe that the contest is skewed towards the Serb however we will have to witness the contest for a definite winner.
