M S Dhoni’s “Cool” Head Can Surely Bring The 2011 World Cup Back After 28 Years

M S Dhoni

M S Dhoni

M S Dhoni currently the skipper of Indian national cricket team is doing a fantastic job as leader since he took over from the Prince of Kolkata – Sourav Ganguly. Under his captaincy the major tournament won by India was T20 World Cup (ICC World Twenty20) in 2007, Commonwealth Bank Series in 2007-08 and Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2008 and in 2010 recently. On the field you will never see Dhoni being confused or complicated anytime. He always seems to be calm and cool in taking decisions of field positioning, changing bowlers and other strategies on the field. Even when he comes to bat at pressure situation, he has always rescued the team from that and ended up in winning the game for India.

The best part about Dhoni is that, he never gives up until the last bowl is bowled. He has always backed the young guns of Indian team which includes Praveen Kumar, Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma which has helped them to perform with full confidence and enthusiasm. Dhoni started off his career with attacking batsman who always takes on the bowlers from the word go, but nowadays he is more of sheet anchor role and finisher for the team. He knows that his responsibility towards the team is much more and he is taking that responsibility in very serious way which is a very positive sign for the team. The other thing about Dhoni is that he also reveals everything to the media and fans and never believes in keeping the things secret.

He is open minded and very much interactive with all the teammates and not like introvert captain. Dhoni has got very good support though from his other team members such as veteran Sachin Tendulkar, turbanator Harbhajan Singh, blaster Virender Sehwag and king of sixes Yuvraj Singh. Dhoni has always maintained a very good balance in the team and has always rotated the players series to series. It’s expected that when you achieve high standards in a very short span of time you may go out of track after that achievement, but in Dhoni’s case he has never let that standards to go away and performed consistently well. Even the Chennai Super Kings IPL team won the Champions Leagure T20 tournament in 2010 under Dhoni’s captaincy which shows that he can lead any team.

It’s only three months left for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 and Dhoni’s team is currently ranked no 3 in ODI. Surely, the tournament being held in sub-continent Dhoni and his boys will be curious to take the most advantage of it. Dhoni has always believed in performing on the match day rather than other superstitions or miracles. We wish him all the luck for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 and hopefully he will be quite successful in bringing back the trophy.

Author:

Hello everyone this is Ronak Parekh and I’m currently student of S.Y.B.M.M. I’m 20 years old from Mumbai. I choose my career in B.M.M because I always wanted to do something which is of my interest. And my passion has always been sports especially cricket and F1. I really want to be linked with sports in my future. B.M.M course gives the opportunity in journalism from where I can move to sports category. When I was child I always used to play and watch cricket a lot which usually most of the people does. I gained my interest in F1 due to only one man and that was none other than seven time world champion Michael Schumacher. Actually I’m also very passionate about cars so it is really fun when I see this sport. Today I’m really excited about getting an opportunity to do internship for three months with the sports mirror, where I will have full freedom to express my views and opinions regarding every sport. I definitely will try my best to write the articles as good as possible which would be worth interesting for readers. I really whole heartedly thanking the sports mirror again for giving me this vital opportunity and I promise I will make the most of it.
