Prayagraj: The grand inauguration of Khel Mahakumbh took place today at the Sangam area in Prayagraj. The event was graced by Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh as the chief guest, along with special guests including Angad Singh, Vice President of Kreeda Bharati UP and Member of the Legislative Council, renowned athletes Yogeshwar Dutt and Dipa Karmakar, TYC Director Geeta Singh, and other esteemed dignitaries.

Notably, Khel Mahakumbh is being organized by Kreeda Bharati and TYC from 6th to 13th February in Sector 10 of the Mela area. The festival features athletes from all over India competing in traditional sports from various states.
During the inaugural session, Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh highlighted the rapid growth of sports and athletes under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, as well as during his own tenure in Manipur. He expressed optimism about the potential for sports development in Uttar Pradesh, stating that UP and Manipur together could nurture a new generation of athletes ahead of the 2036 Olympics. On this occasion, the official attire of Khel Mahakumbh was launched by the dignitaries. Renowned athletes Yogeshwar Dutt and Dipa Karmakar encouraged young players by emphasizing the importance of discipline and boosting their morale.
On 10th February, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to attend the event. In the coming days, several Chief Ministers, Union Ministers, legendary athletes, and political leaders will also participate in the Khel Mahakumbh, inspiring and motivating the young athletes.
