The Indian cricket team will be visiting the country this year where the Black Caps and the Indian National cricket team will be battling it out on the field starting January 24th – March 04, 2020.

Westpac Stadium
Fondly nicknamed “The Cake Tin”, the Wellington Stadium was opened in 1999 to replace the aging Athletic Park. It sits right on the waterfront and frequently hosts everything from major sports to cultural events such as big-name concerts and the Edinburgh Military Tattoo.Another claim to fame was when, during a cricket match, film director Peter Jackson recorded 30,000 fans chanting a battle scene cry for his film The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.

Bay Oval
The Bay Oval has become a facility which is the home of cricket in the Bay of Plenty, and a focal point for all cricket lovers and players alike! The purpose of the Bay of Plenty Cricket Trust was ‘to enable and encourage the community to play cricket or other games and sports thereby assisting in the physical health and well being of the Bay of Plenty community.’ The Bay Oval has also hosted a free community Christmas concert, the 2011 Cancer Society Relay for Life, and was ‘home base’ for the 2012 NZCT AIMS (Association of Intermediate Schools) Games.
