Rajasthan Royals (RR) will start afresh on Monday when they take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 4 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season 11. The match will be played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
However, it seems that the bad days for RR haven’t stopped as yet. Making a comeback after two long years, the team will have to play the entire season without its top class player Steve Smith. The Aussie skipper led RR side previously, but this year India’s Test Deputy Skipper Ajinkya Rahane will lead RR.
Similarly SRH will also play without its star batsman and skipper David Warner. It is worthwhile to mention here that both Warner and Smith are facing a year-long ban from Cricket Australia (CA) for their alleged role in Ball-Tampering. Kiwi batsman Kane Williamson will be taking charge of SRH side for IPL 2018.
Team News for Rajasthan Royals
This season, Heinrich Klaasen will replace Steve Smith. Henry is a fearsome South African wicket-keeping batsman with a wide variety of explosive shots in his armory. Also, the team includes capable batsmen like Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer. Ajinkya Rahane will definitely try to keep the team united and spirited for RR’s maiden match this season against SRH.
Rajasthan will expect a lot from its top bided players like Jaydev Unadkat and Ben Stokes. Both cricketers were bought by RR Franchisee at a whopping 11 crore INR each. It is expected that experienced Dhawal Kulkarni and Jaydev Unadkat will spearhead Rajasthan’s pace battery at IPL 11. The Aussie legend Shane Warner’s mentorship will act as an extraordinary motivating factor for RR this time.
Team News for Sunrisers Hyderabad
The Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson will have a tough task ahead. Definitely, SRH want to repeat their 2016 success this season too. They have a strong team and can definitely beat any opponent on any ground. Shikhar Dhawan and Alex Hales will be playing in the openers slot while Manish Pandey and Yusuf Pathan will be playing in the middle order for Hyderabad franchisee.
Hyderabad’s bowling unit comprises of biggies like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, Shakib Al Hasan and others. For the last few years, Bhuvi has been excellent for Hyderabad. He has a knack of taking wickets at regular intervals and prevents opponent’s run-rate too. Rashid Khan’s googly as always is a relish to watch but scary to play. RR have to stay cautious from him.
Probable Playing XI (Both Teams)
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH): Shikhar Dhawan, Alex Hales, Kane Williamson (Captain), Shakib Al Hasan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, Manish Pandey, Yusuf Pathan, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Siddarth Kaul and Sandeep Sharma.
