# 9 – After scoring his magnificent debut ton against England at Manchester in 1990, Tendulkar got a Magnums champagne bottle. But he was barred from opening the bottle as Sachin was under 18 at that time. British rules don’t permit anyone to consume liquor below 18. # 1 – Known for his righteous attitude and playing in the spirit of the game, Tendulkar stirred up a major controversy (the only one in his 24-year-long cricket career) in 2001 when he was accused of ball tempering by match referee Mike Denness. The then match referee Mike ordered 1-year-suspension to Sachin along with several other punishments to five more Indian cricketers. However, the order was later reversed following massive hue and cry from ICC to BCCI. TV replays clearly showed that Sachin Tendulkar was actually cleaning the ball with his finger that is fully legal.
