Race Across America (RAAM) is one of the most esteemed ultra-endurance events in the world. It’s not only respected by the cycling community, but the entire sporting community looks up to it at as a zenith of athletic achievement. With Scott Sports India’s support, Dr Amit Samarth from Nagpur will cycle 4800 kms solo at Race Across America (RAAM) this June 2017.

SCOTT Sports India, the Indian arm of the globally recognized multisport company SCOTT Sports, exists to provide sports enthusiast with innovative gear, inspiring them to push themselves to their limits and encourage their love and passion towards the sport. SCOTT Sports India as their latest initiative is supporting 10 times Iron Man Dr. Amit Samarth with three world class premium carbon bikes to race at the world’s toughest endurance bicycle race – Race Across America (RAAM). The SCOTT Plasma Premium, SCOTT Foil Team Issue, and SCOTT Addict 30 are going to be the 3 bikes that Dr. Amit will use as per the terrain to cycle 4800 kms solo at Race Across America (RAAM) this June 2017.

Dr. Amit Samarth is from Nagpur, and lives and breathes fitness, health and sports. Apart from being an endurance athlete he is a Doctor (M.B.B.S) as well, and has a Master’s Degree in Public Health. His endurance background includes 10 Ironman Triathlons in total which include two long courses and eight short courses. Beyond Ironman running is his passion and his achievements comprise of more than 100 half marathons, eight full marathons and many other key races. He earlier had qualified for Race Across America solo in the year 2015. He also was a key crew member during RAAM 2016 for Seana Hogan- who is an ultra-cycling legend and six times solo winner at RAMM.
Dr. Amit Samarths’ dedication has been strong and to prepare for RAMM, he has been training 360 degrees –mind, body, and soul. His weekly schedule covers over 1500 kms of cycling, 60 to 70 kms of running, 15 to 20 kms of swimming, three times strength training, yoga, and meditation.

My objective is to promote sports and active lifestyle and inspire people of my country to give more priority to sports. In future, I want to establish the School of Endurance Sports in Nagpur to develop national and international level athletes in endurance sports like cycling, running and triathlon. I am glad that Scott Sports India has offered me their support for my participation in RAMM this year with their best gear possible.” says Dr. Amit Samarth.
