The RCB vs KXIP match is going to be a battle between two explosive Aussie all-rounders; Glenn Maxwell of Kings XI Punjab and Shane Watson of Royal Challengers Bangalore. Both are leading their respective squads this season and have been entrusted with an important responsibility of captaincy by their respective team owners.
Yesterday, RCB performed well beating Delhi Daredevils in an exciting clash though latter were favorites to win the match. But some exciting bowling by left-arm-orthodox Pawan Negi in the final over changed the course of the match removing the dangerous Rishabh Pant in the very first ball of the 20th over. Eventually, Watson restricted Delhi to 142 to register their maiden victory this season. RCB won the match against DD by 15 runs.
Likewise, upbeat KXIP are also in a prolific mood after beating the mighty RPS at home by six wickets in their first match. Skipper Maxwell and Miller batted well that day while offering a little glimpse to how they will perceive the tournament in future clashes. Punjab will definitely play to win their maiden IPL title this year.
Team News for Kings XI Punjab vs Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB have already played two IPL matches this season with 1-1 record. They lost against SRH (Sunrisers Hyderabad) and then won the thriller against Delhi Daredevils. Both Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers missed their first tow IPL 10 matches due to injuries.
With good batsmen like Chris Gayle, Shane Watson and Kedar Jadhav, they are still a force to reckon with. Not to forget, RCB have some good bowlers too; Pawan Negi, Watson and S Aravind are well capable to dismantle any batting line up anytime. The latest buzz also confirmed that star batsman AB de Villiers may join tomorrow’s match. It will further strengthen their batting powers.

On the other hand, Team Punjab is also set to change the history of IPL after performing lackadaisically in the last two IPL seasons. With Maxwell at the helm of Punjab’s captaincy – KXIP look lot more balanced and pumped now. First match win against RPS boosted their confidence and Kings XI Punjab will try to carry on the momentum.
For Punjab, a good opening partnership is all that matters. If top order batsmen like Manan Vohra, Wriddhiman Saha and Hashim Amla provide a fiery start to the team, then it would become simpler for big hitters like David Miller and Maxwell to create run riot in the later overs. Then some good bowling from Mohit Sharma and Sandeep Sharma could curb the flow of runs from opponent’s bat.
