Fantastic performance by India’s latest badminton sensation, PV Sindhu, at the closely-fought semi-final against World No. 4 Sung Ji Hyun of South Korea at the ongoing India open tournament, saw her move to the grand finale of the championship. This time, PV Sindhu will once again clash against the World No. 3 Carolina Marin of Spain in New Delhi on Sunday.

In the other Semi final, Carolina Marin also defeated the top seeded Akane Yamaguchi (World Ranking 2) in two consecutive set victories with 21-16, 21-14 to clash against PV Sindhu at the grand finale of the ongoing India Open tournament.

PV Sindhu is currently enjoying a sublime form. Earlier, in the quarter final, she defeated ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal in a shocking manner, and then again she won over Sung Ji Hyun with 21-18, 14-21, 21-14. Sung started well with 6-3 lead, but then suddenly the entire match got turned in PV Sindhu’s favor with some finest performance by the Indian.

PV Sindhu vs Carolina Marin: Battle for the Glory

This Sunday, worlds fiercest Badminton players; PV Sindhu and Carolina Marin will clash against each other at the Yonex Sunrise India Open Super Series 2017 Final. The Spaniard at present leads the table with 5-3 in her favor. Not to forget how she broke the hearts of a billion Indians by defeating Sindhu at RIO Olympics 2016 Badminton final in Women’s Single contest. Then Marin got the gold while Sindhu had to settle for silver.

But time has now changed. PV Sindhu is performing brilliantly on frequent basis. In fact, she also defeated top seeded Carolina Marin at the group stage of the World Super Series final at Dubai in December with 21-17, 21-13 in an almost one-sided manner. But the Spaniard soon avenged the same when she again beat Sindhu at Premier Badminton League 2017 in January this year. But it won’t get counted in their international performance – still Marin has some psychological advantage over the lanky Indian athlete.

Who will win India Open World Super Series Final 2017?

The prize money is set at whooping $325,000 for the winner. The final will be held at the Siri Fort Indoor Stadium in New Delhi. Marin has recently recouped from a nasty injury that she suffered a few months back, so she is expected to give her 100% at this match. But we mustn’t forget PV Sindhu’s astonishing form either. Overall, it’s going to be a fighting clash.

PV Sindhu’s Semifinal performance against the South Korean is a testimony to the fact that she has now become a more determined player than ever. In the beginning of this year, Sindhu also won Syed Modi International Grand Prix Gold and now she is also set to win it big against the Olympics Gold Champion for the India Open Super Series 2017 Final.

The finale will be a nail-biting one and almost a rematch to what we have seen at their Rio Olympics 2016 finale. Badminton fans from across the globe are expected to watch this event live as this is surely a battle of the two biggest contemporary Badminton stars.
