New Delhi, February 3, 2017: PNB MetLife, one of India’s leading life insurance companies, and Sara Foundation (an organisation for the promotion of sports), today announced the third edition of its most awaited national badminton initiative for school children including underprivileged sports prodigies – PNB MetLife Junior Badminton Championship (JBC) 2017. After two successful seasons that established PNB MetLife JBC as the single largest badminton open-platform in India for school children by virtue of participation, the third edition will bring back the exciting opportunities for badminton enthusiasts across India. Registration opens from 4th February 2017 for all locations and participants can simply login to www.JBC3.in to send in their entries.
This noble initiative is being promoted by PNB MetLife and organized by Sara Foundation to promote the sport at grass-roots level across the country.
PNB MetLife Junior Badminton Championship brings together top sports personalities, dignitaries, badminton prodigies and enthusiasts on a single platform. The tournament continues to extend the reach and popularity of badminton across India taking it to grass-roots level, encouraging talent to participate and experience the sport, evaluate their potential, connect with like-minded shuttlers and map the opportunity for growth.
In addition to the excitement of action packed head-to-head competition, PNB MetLife continues to extend its association with Child Rights & You (CRY) for conducting badminton camps across their projects in the country to identify and train talented underprivileged children. These children will have a chance to participate in the upcoming season of PNB MetLife Junior Badminton Championship and compete for the coveted 16 National Badminton Scholarships for talented underprivileged children. In addition to this CRY and Sara Foundation will also bring and encourage more underprivileged kids from different parts of the country to make them participate in this one of its kind initiative.
