With less than a few hours to go before this year’s gala IPL auction in Bengaluru on Monday, February 20 – the stage is set for some big announcement by the IPL team franchises. The VIVO IPL 2017 schedule was announced a few days back, with around 60 high-voltage clashes are set to be played at 10 important venues of the country. The tournament will start from 5th April and will run for the next one and half month. The VIVO IPL 2017 will conclude on 21st May, 2017.
As many as around 351 players will go under the hammer on Monday for Vivo IPL 2017 player auction. Obviously, like every year, some cricketers will be on the top of team franchisee’s mind when the auction will be conducted.
#5 – Colin de Grandhomme: One of the New Zealand’s most attacking batsmen in recent times, Grandhomme has played really fantastic cricket in the last few months together at T20 clashes. He smashed 1757 runs in 99 T20s at a fantastic strike rate of around 170.
#4 – Kagiso Rabada: A lot of franchises would be eyeing to grab this super Protease fast bowler in their team. Rabada is capable of destroying any batting line-up. He can even trouble good batsmen too at batting-friendly wicket. His 39 wickets haul in 30 T20 matches proves what this bowler is capable of doing in the upcoming IPL T20 tournament.
#3 – Angelo Mathews: The current Sri Lankan captain across all formats, Angelo Mathews could be an asset for any team. In fact, he is Sri Lanka’s best all-rounder of all time after the legendary Sanath Jayasuriya. He can bowl, bat and field consistently well at all occasions whenever gets a chance to do so. He is a specialized batsman with a strike rate of more than 140 in both ODIs and T20s. He is capable to score a lot of runs in real quick time. He has a lot of shots in his armory to trouble even the best of the bowlers in this format. He got more than 3800 runs in T20s at a good average of around 37.
#1 – Ben Stokes: In recent times, Ben Stokes has emerged out as the most consistent English all-rounder across formats. He is a clever bowler too. Stokes is an ideal all-rounder to bat at number 4 or 5 and accelerate the scorecard in a few balls. Ben Stokes can bowl full 4 overs in perfect line and length. He has a knack of picking up important wickets at frequent intervals. Ben Stokes has score more than 1200 runs in 77 T20s with 32 wickets to his credit.
The IPL auction is upon us, and is that time of the year when all the team owners and coaches are pondering upon which player would best suit their side. The auction has seen some surprising buys over the years, with some players going for an unusually high price, while some others going unsold.
