Kathiwada Arts and Sports which is a part of the prestigious Kathiwada Foundation will be curating their very own brand of auctioneering starting with sports memorabilia this December.
The main idea behind this auction is to create awareness and expand the market of sports memorabilia in India and realize it as an important collectible asset of the future.
This auction will be spear headed by Swati and Digvijay Sinh Kathiwada who are the founders of KAS (Kathiwada Arts and Sports) and also trustees of the Kathiwada foundation.
The auction will be a standard minimum reserve auction with the highest successful bidder winning his or her lot. Bids can be placed in 4 ways – written bid, phone bidding, in-room bidding or internet based bidding. A preview will be held 10 days before the auction and private viewings will be granted based on appointment only.
Some of the memorabilia to be auctioned at this event would include, a bat signed by the winning Indian team of the 2013 Champions Trophy Final and a frame of the (First) All Indian Team, 1911 which are truly unique items of cricket history. The prices of these collectibles start from around INR 70,000 to INR 5, 00,000.
Speaking about the auction co-founder of the KAS, Digvijay Sinh Kathiwada commented, “The main objective behind this auction is to establish KAS as a renowned name in the auctioneering space starting with sports memorabilia. By putting a market value to goods used by our sporting heroes, not only do we attribute value to the legacy of the sportsperson which is often short lived but we also learn to appreciate the sports as a form of culture in our society which then transcends to the next generation and beyond.”
The auction will constitute a charity component whereby some proceeds as realised by KAS will be fed to the starter program of Kathiwada Foundation that supports sports infrastructure building in Kathiwada, Madhya Pradesh.
This event will be held on the 7th of December at the CK Nayudu Hall, CCI.
