The occasion was to celebrate Patna Pirates win over U Mumba in the finals of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi. They recorded a maiden title triumph as they stamped their authority in the tournament with a 31-28 victory over U Mumba.

The entire team seemed jubilant and a good camaraderie was evident among the players with the trophy of the season 3 of Pro Kabaddi League. After the Press conference they took out a road show with the trophy at the prominent locations in Patna such as Patna Airport, Gandhi Maidan and Patliputra stadium

The third season of the tournament ended on a high note, with the splendid performance of Patna team which continued their dream winning sequence. Rohit Kumar of Patna Pirates was awarded Best Raider.

Led ably by Manpreet Singh with Rohit Kumar and Sandeep Narwal at the forefront of attack and defence, the Pirates dashed the hopes of defending champions and three-time finalist U Mumba in a pulsating final at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium late last night.

Captain Manpreet Singh said here today, “There is a joy for any team to win the finals of the Pro Kabaddi League. Even at Indira Gandhi stadium, Delhi we felt we were playing at our home ground, with the kind of spectators and the support we had.
