The ICC World T20 2016 is the Twenty20 International cricket tournament to be held in India from March 8 to April 3, 2016. It will be the sixth edition of ICC World Twenty20 and India will be hosting this tournament for the first time.
Here are four crucial encounters of the ICC T20 World cup 2016:
India vs Pakistan
There is no match bigger than India and Pakistan. After all the political interference finally PCB has agreed to allow team to fly to India. The match was earlier scheduled to be played at Dharamshala but due to security concerns has now been shifted to Eden Gardens – mecca of Indian Cricket. These two teams met last during the recently concluded Asia Cup where India won comfortably in the end. Although India has never lost to Pakistan in ICC World Cup but Pakistan has won 4 matches against India at Eden Gardens. Pakistan would be looking to continue their form at Eden Gardens. It would not be easy for Pakistan to beat in-form India in front of 60,000 passionate supporters. Pakistan would be banking on their fast bowlers and upset team India.
Date: 19th March 2016
Venue: Eden Gardens, Kolkata

Australia vs New Zealand
The finalist from the 50 over ICC World Cup will be again battling it out in shortest format of the game. Recently Australia had the upper hand in the Test series against New Zealand but this is a totally different format and New Zealand has been playing very good T20 cricket. Australia after getting beaten by India bounced back by winning T20 series in South Africa 2-1. New Zealand already showed in their warm up match that they are one of the favourites of the tournament. With India and Pakistan also in the same group this match becomes very important for both the teams for progressing in the knockout stage.

South Africa vs England
South Africa would be looking to break the tag of chokers in the T20 World Cup. With the likes of AB de Villiers, Quinton de Kock and David Miller, Proteas has a very powerful batting line up. England on the other side are playing aggressive brand of cricket under Eon Morgan. The team has all-rounders like Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, Adil Rashid and Joe Root which give them balance in the team. West Indies also in the same group, both teams would be looking to win this encounter to place a strong claim for them going forward.
Date: 18th March 2016
Venue: Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
Time: 19:30 IST
Sri Lanka vs West Indies
Both teams have won T20 World Cup in the past. West Indies won against Sri Lanka in the finals of 2012 ICC World T20. West Indies are one of the favourites to win this time as well. Sri Lanka are not in very good form going into the World Cup but Lankans are the defending champions and have been consistently doing well in the previous T20 World Cup. Sri Lanka will be looking for spinners to trouble big hitting West Indies batsmen. Dilshan, Mathews and Chandimal would be looking to cash on West Indies bowling. This encounter would be crucial for both the team, eyeing a Semi Final spot.
