India bounced back with 69 run win in second T20 in Ranchi. India looked at their best in much familiar conditions Dhoni’s hometown. Chandimal might have got excited by first win and again decided to bowl first in Ranchi but conditions were totally different from Pune. The wicket assisted spin bowling and slowed down as the game progressed and India utilized to their advantage.
Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma started really well for India. They scored 70 runs in the first six overs. Dhawan started his innings with two sixes. He was at his best striking the ball all over the park. Rajitha last match hero was struck for three consecutive fours by Dhawan in his second over. Dhawan scored 51 of 25 balls striking 7 fours and 2 sixes. Rahane joined Rohit Sharma and controlled the mid innings. Sri Lanka bowled tight in the middle overs and 30 run from over 7th to 11th. Rohit Sharma (43 of 36) finally got out by a brilliant catch by Chameera on his own bowling. Rahane soon followed Rohit and was dismissed for 25 by Senanayake. Pandya came into bat ahead of Yuvraj and Dhoni and he didn’t disappoint at all. He did was he was known and struck 2 big sixes and 1 boundary on his way to 27 on just 12 balls. He along with Raina helped India to score at more than 10 runs an over in last 5 overs. Thisara Perera was pick of the bowlers as he picked Hat Trick. Pandya, Raina and Yuvraj were his three wickets. Finally India finished with 196.
Sri Lanka chased was derailed in the very first over. Dhoni introduced Ashwin in very first over and the comeback man Dilshan got out very first ball. Nehra soon picked up 2 wickets to dent Sri Lanka very badly. Sri Lanka only managed 37/3 in first 6 overs. Jadeja and Yuvraj bowled brilliantly in the middle overs and match was getting out of Sri Lanka. Jadeja 24 for 2 and Ashwin 14 for 3 were the best bowlers on display today. Bumrah was introduced late in the innings but he was impressive with his yokers and picked up 2 wickets as well. India also held on their catches and was brilliant in the field. Chandimal, Kapudegra was the highest scorer for Sri Lanka, he scored 32 of 27 balls, followed by Chandimal 31 of 30 balls.
