Life is full of twist and turns and so is the cricket’s battle field. No player knows when he will be dropped from the national team despite years of match-winning performances for his team. It is equally unknown that when he will make a comeback in the national squad after spending several summers under sun playing domestic cricket.
The latest news came from the BCCI selection committee which surprisingly included both the veteran cricketers, Ashish Nehra and Yuvraj Singh, back in India’s national T20 squad. What’s more surprising is the fact that Nehra, played his last international match almost 4 years back in 2011. However, selectors showed their confidence on the lanky fast bowler and considered him for India’s T20I team for the upcoming bilateral series against the Aussies. Nehra has been bowled well both in the IPL 8 and as well as in domestic cricket as well.
Ashish Nehra grabbed a lot of headlines during the IPL 2015 for all the right reasons. His sublime form came at this year’s IPL 8 while playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) – now defunct. The tall left arm bowler’s ability to swing the ball and his astute control over the line and length helped him earn a spot at India’s national squad after a long hiatus of 4 years.
The dictum, “fortune favors the brave”, is quite popular and can be aptly attributed to Yuvraj Singh, India’s most prolific all-rounder – who has also been selected for team India’s squad for the upcoming T20 squad against Australia in a bilateral series down under, alongside Nehra.

Yuvraj Singh’s availability will be definitely a precious asset for the side. The southpaw is known for playing aggressive cricket both with the bat and ball as well. He is now performing very well in the domestic cricket. He is a true match winner and helped India win the highly coveted ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 after 3 decades. But his poor form at the ICC World T20 Championship 2014 held in Dhaka kept him out of India’s national team for a little more than the last 2 years.
