Delhi Dynamos FC kicks off the India Today Safaigiri movement




New Delhi 30th September, 2015 – The India Today Group’s Safaigiri initiative gets bigger, with Delhi Dynamos FC, the Delhi team of Indian Super League joining the movement. The superstars from Delhi Dynamos have added steam to the group’s mission that has already moved the hearts of the viewers and celebrities alike.

The football superstars from the ISL club Delhi Dynamos FC including legends like Florent Malouda and John Arne Riise have got their kicks together for ground activations and a special promo that will run across all the channels and digital platforms of the Group. The footballers from the most power packed ISL team shot this promo from the Red Fort, where they use their football skills to clean the garbage.
The soccer stars who will soon have the nation getting into Football fever with the start of ISL have set the ball rolling for the fans to work towards a cleaner nation with this exclusive partnership.

India Today Safaigiri Singathon & Awards is a culmination of the Group’s efforts in realising the vision of Swachh Bharat and in recognising Clean Champions across the country. The Clean Champions are selected in 13 categories through a process of online entries, field work, and selection by a jury of eminent citizens. The Safaigiri Singathon & Awards is a platform that celebrates cleanliness champions across India who are engaged in innovative work. It will share best practices in the area of cleanliness and have top visionaries honouring the chosen innovators. It’s the group’s attempt to motivate India to recognise cleanliness champions and learn from their example. The awards will be given in the categories of Garbage Guru, Toilet Titan, Tech Icon, Cleanest Beach Town, Cleanest Monument, Cleanest Park, Cleanest Hill Station, Community Mobiliser, Cleanest Ghat, Water Warrior, Corporate Trailblazer and Cleanest Market Place.

The event on 2nd October will be highlighted by the Safai Singathon with singers and musicians performing through the day. The singers and musicians attending the daylong event include, Asha Bhosle, Kailash Kher, Daler Mehndi, Sonu Nigam, Hans Raj Hans, Papon and Udit Narayan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the key note speaker and will be giving away the awards. The Safai Singathon will be telecast on all four channels from the Network for over 8 hours non-stop Live on 2nd October.
