Hyderabad, April 30th, 2015: Oakridge International School in partnership with Swimming Matters – brand of Winning Matters Consulting Pvt. Ltd. bringing the world’s best aquatic products and services to India, launched world renowned swim teaching and water safety aquatic education program – Aquatic Eduation “The Australian Way” – on Thursday at Oakridge International School, Gachibowli. Hakimuddin Habibulla, Olympian swimmer & Chief Evangelist of Swimming Matters; Ceri Weeks, leading AUSTSWIM Trainer of swim teachers from Australia & Gustav Gropp, Principal, Oakridge International School, Newton Campus; briefed media about the launch at a Press conference.
Aquatic Education “The Australian Way”, focuses on teaching swimming and water safety skills among children in a safe, structured and fun environment. The program ensures that children learn to swim in the right way and take to the sport for life, thereby leading a healthy life. As part of this collaboration swim teachers of Oakridge will be trained in AUSTSWIM’s Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety course and be supported by a eight stage curriculum developed by AUSTSWIM. AUSTSWIM is Australia’s national organisation for the teaching of swimming and water safetyTM. The program for students will begin in June, 2015 and will be available at Oakridge International Schools at Hyderabad, Bangalore and Vizag.
This program will enable the students to get the best of international swim teaching through a structured format, consistent teaching and quarterly certification from AUSTSWIM, says Gustav Gropp. The program incorporates a no-compromise approach towards water safety by educating all stakeholders including children, parents and the school staff, he adds.
Hakimuddin Habibulla is the founder of Swimming Matters. He was a member of the Indian Olympic team at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
Ceri Weeks is a leading AUSTSWIM Swim Teacher from Australia. She was awarded the ‘National AUSTSWIM Presenter’ (Trainer of swim teachers) in the year 2012.
