New Delhi, 16th May, 2015: Delhi Dynamos FC has marked the celebration of AFC Grassroots Day today by conducting a grassroot programme for Kids at Jasola Sports Complex, New Delhi. With a vision to nurture football talent in the city and enthuse children to take up the game of football, Delhi Dynamos also roped in Former Manchester United, Arsenal & Inter Milan player Mikael Silvestre. He came out to support the activity and share his footballing experiences with the kids.
The festival saw around 200 kids between the age groups 6- 12 years from various NGOs across Delhi NCR. The aim of the festival was primarily to generate interest among the kids for this sport and also to provide them the right platform to display their skills. The kids were also taken through various fun drills and games by the Coaches of the Delhi Dynamos FC Team.
Delhi Dynamos FC recently conducted the largest ever open trials on 11th and 16th April, 2015 which saw a huge participation from kids at Ambedkar Stadium. The Club had also previously organized an inter-school tournament and over 2400 Players from 180 schools participated in the event.
Prashant Agarwal, President Football- Delhi Dynamos FC, said: “Football as a sport has been generating interest in India for the past few years. We have seen emerging talent in the open trials conducted by DDFC .We personally believe if given the right platform, we can also have international football stars emerging from India. We are hopeful that Delhi Dynamos efforts will go a long way in nurturing the right talent and give them the right exposure to compete at national & international platforms’.
