In 2014 Susie Wolff, a woman Formula One driver, participated in the testing for Williams on the weekend of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone and at the Hockenheim circuit in Germany. This season, Wolff is preparing herself to be similarly engaged in testing activities at the Spanish, Austrian and British Grand Prix.
The Formula One season is poised to start on the 15th of March with the Australian Grand Prix at Melbourne. Wolff said that her focus at Williams will be to build on the success of last season. Williams finished a strong third in the 2014 season and have high hopes going this season. She added that she has been involved with the team through the winter testing and physically she is in the best shape and is looking forward to the start of the new season.

Williams have been very impressed with her performance last year and have said that she knew the car and the gradual developments made to it over the season. The team stated that it is keen to utilise her experience of the car and her knowledge to help asses and validate their approach.
Susie Wolff is a British racing driver from Scotland. She started with karting at a young age and has swiftly moved through the ranks of motorsports reaching Formula Renault and Formula Three. In 2012 she was signed by Williams Formula One team to work as a development driver. She is married to Toto Wolff who is the executive director of Mercedes AMG Petronas team, in 2011 and currently resides in Emantigen, Switzerland. In 2014 she became the first woman to participate in a Formula One weekend at the British Grand Prix.
In Britian last year she was involved with Williams to test the car which did not go well due to engine problems. She drove the free practice session at the German Grand Prix again facing engine problems which were solved. She put a good show in the session where she finished a few hundredth of a second behind co-driver Felipe Massa. In November 2014, her contract was extended by Williams to continue her services with the team in the 2015 season in an enhanced role as a test driver including two runs in Friday practices and more.
She is a rare example of women grit by paving her way in the men dominant motorsport arena. Her journey has not been easy however, her determination and talent has propelled her in this sport. This is only the beginning for her as she has a lot to still achieve including a permanent role as driver in Formula One. Motorsport requires a high level of physical and mental stamina and she stands testimony to many female racers who want to leave a mark in motorsport.
