Santosh Trophy is just a month away from now. This premiere football contest will surely encapsulate the emotion and excitements of football fans throughout the country. A total of 34 teams are participating at the Santosh Trophy 2015. Come March, and the football fever will connect the entire nation under its grip. The stage is set for the players to create history again by winning this prestigious tournament.
The prestigious Santosh Trophy football tournament will be hosted by Punjab this year. The 69th National Football Championships for the Santosh Trophy is scheduled to be played at the Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana and the Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Jalandhar from March 1 to March 15, 2015. Earlier this premiere football event was intended to be played in Goa, but the AIFF (All India Football Federation) has now decided to organize the said contest in the football loving state of Punjab.
The football stadiums in Jalandhar and Ludhiana are expected to remain full houses during those fifteen days of the tournament. The qualifier round was organized earlier this month and top ten teams have qualified for the final round.

The qualifier round of 2015 Santosh Trophy was held from 10th to 23rd January and was played all over the states of India. Bengal has played really well and won 31 titles in the history of Santosh Trophy. Punjab is the second most successful team as it won 8 titles until now.
Santosh Trophy is more than a seven decade old prestigious domestic football tournament held annually each year. The first edition of the trophy was played in 1941. It is considered to be as one of the most premiere domestic football tournaments in India.
This will be the 69th edition of this coveted trophy and each of the teams will play their heart out to win it. The legendary Indian football player Inder Singh (Punjab) has scored maximum goals in the tournament. He has hit 45 goals (maximum) in the history of this football trophy which is a record in itself.
