Through our previous editions we have secured education for 700 under-privileged girl children. This year, we intend to raise money for children of Shristi Special Academy, who have qualified for the Special Olympics. Together, we envision a world where persons with disabilities get unconditional acceptance and care”, Ms. Chandra Gopalan, Director – Contours India and a Veteran Marathoner, said.
Commenting on the partnership, Srikanth Pinninti, VP Marketing, Myntra.com said, “We are pleased to partner with Contours for Women’s day run that supports a good cause. At Myntra, health and fitness is an important category, with women increasingly driving this segment. We will continue to associate with such initiatives that encourage women to lead a healthy lifestyle and look good.”
Commenting on the event, Mike Holland, CEO, Embassy Office Parks said “We are delighted to support the Contour’s Women’s Day Run and the children of the Shristi Special Academy. This run is an integral part of our Women’s Day celebrations and part of our ongoing commitment to bring together our business park communities and build awareness for important social and community programs.”
“We are glad to be associated with Contours Women’s Day Run and whether you’re just getting started or training for a marathon, the key is to gradually increase the amount of running you do. If you plan it right, you hardly notice the increases. It is true that exercise in moderation can reduce your risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, Type 1 diabetes, Alzheimer’s, dementia, obesity, and premature aging. Regular workouts can also promote muscular health, skeletal health, and boost your mood. Overdo it, though, and many of these health benefits practically vanish.” Dr. Jagadeesh P.C., Consultant Arthroscopy & Sports Medicine at Fortis Hospitals, Bangalore, said.
Women from the Embassy Office Parks senior management including Ms. Hemalatha Nair, Head – Marketing and Communication and Ms. Maria Rajesh, Head – Human Resources – Embassy Office Parks would be taking active part at the event, further bolstering the message that the event carries.
The funds raised from the Contours Women’s Day Run will be used for Shristi Special Academy, who in collaboration with Special Olympics Bharat is training and grooming persons with disabilities (PWDs) for the Special Olympics at Los Angeles, to envision a world where persons with disabilities receive unconditional acceptance, support and care.
Contours is setting up a special fund for a team of boys with disabilities, who have qualified for the special Olympics. The funds will be routed through Shristi Special Academy.
Fortis Hospitals will also be supporting the 6th Edition of Contours Women’s day Run, with Fever 104 FM being the Radio partner.
