January 21, 2015, Goa: Chandigarh beat Goa (2-1) in a Group A fixture of The Coca-Cola Cup U-15 Football Tournament for the national finals.
The league match that took place at the Benaulim Football Ground, Goa, saw Chandigarh’s Sahib Malik score the opening goal in the 79th minute. Aaron Barreto from Goa netted the equalizer in the 90th minute. The winning goal for Chandigarh was scored by Manvir Singh in the 93rd minute.
The final round (National Finals) league matches are being played amongst Group A and Group B teams respectively where all teams of the same Group will compete with each other. The Winner of Group A and the Runners up of Group A will play with the Runners up of Group B and Winner of Group B respectively in the semi-finals. The two teams which will emerge as winners will play for the final tournament on the 27th of January 2015 at the Benaulim Stadium, Goa.
The final score line was Chandigarh 2-1 Goa.
The Coca-Cola Cup is a grassroots talent hunt initiated to identify potential players to tap the best talent for the upcoming for the National U-17 team for the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017 to be hosted by India.
The tournaments also aims at improving the imminent quality of Indian football at hand giving exposure to the players and also play a major role in taking Indian Football to the World level.
