What’s in a name? Well there is quite a lot, if one uses the name to find similarities, and there could not be a better occasion than to use it right now! PK after its release has caught the imagination of the public both in India and abroad, and the imagination has been appreciative as also vitriolic. Well, then can a VK aka Virat Kohli do a PK for the Indian cricket – remove the spate of gloom that has descended on it- and take it to new horizons. For the sake of commonalities, he has an Anushka Sharma as the lucky charm, the charm that worked wonders for PK as well and VK could surely seek help from his current love interest.
Can this VK do a PK for Indian cricket in 2015?
VK ala a PK has to come out with fliers, as a PK was distributing those fliers in PK, the content of the fliers being an affirmation for the cricket crazy nation that all is well with the Indian team and there is nothing to worry about. He displayed the sense of aggregation down under, when he refused to be cowed down by the bullying tactics of the Aussies, either through sledging or through physical gestures. While jury may still be out whether the approach of “Captain Cool”, needs to be followed by VK or not, his nomination as the captain is symptomatic of giving due recognition to the youth of the present times, who does want to rest on the laurels but wishes to conquer the world based on his performance and individual personality. Of course for PK advantage lies in the fact that cinema and cricket is a heady combination and he has the same in form of Anushka Sharma as the beau, and the difference lies in the fact that here there is no sense of hush -hush affair in the relationship but it is a genuine relationship that would also enhance the quality of fan following of VK. So 2015 would wait for VK to attain success in the same way as it has come for his beau Anushka with PK.
