WWE Superstar and former World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali will not perform again in the wrestling arena if the latest sources close to WWE are to be believed. Hugely popular among Indian fans the Khali has been reported to be released by the WWE authority few days back.

WWE slammed The Great Khali

Originally known as the Dalip Singh Rana belonging to the north Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, the WWE Superstar quickly rose to fame. Soon he became very popular all over the World. Particularly, he earned a lot of fans in the Northern India, especially in Punjab and Haryana.

It was the US media who first broke the news about the Khali’s not-so-great end of the contract with the WWE industry. Khali’s contract has not been reviewed instead his official profile on WWE.com was moved to its Alumni section.

The Great Khali made a rocking debut in the WWE ring in 2006 when he took on the legend – Undertaker at his very first match. Apart from his few initial years in the WWE arena, the superstar has failed to give a consistent performance over the last half a decade. However, the 42-year-old was successful to win every Indian’s heart.

Khali’s frequent defeats at WWE matches led to some serious discussions among the WWE officials. As it is well known that these officials do what’s best for business similarly the end of 9-year-end of Khali’s contract with the WWE is also viewed in the same manner.

No doubt the fact of the matter is WWE is relatively USA dominated game. Most of its superstars belong to this part of the world. However, there are few exceptions to this including Alexander Rusev, The Great Khali and Adam Rose, who belong to some other regions of the world. Amongst these wrestlers The Great Khali has been often accused of his lackluster performance even against some of his newer colleagues like Bolieve, Ryback and others.

It is worthwhile to mention here that the former WWE Heavyweight Champion is suffering from a disease called Acromegaly that is responsible for Khali’s taller height and slow movement. He is currently the longest serving WWE superstar from India.

Although other athletes like the Big Show, Mark Henry and Rusev are also criticized for their slow movements, but at least their winning record and interaction with the WWE fans is comparatively better than the Indian athlete.

Fitness has always been a big challenge for the Great Khali. Just a couple of years back, he took a long break from the WWE. He underwent for a head surgery during that time. Doctors had to do an operation of his pituitary gland to remove a tumor.

In a nutshell the Great Khali’s story is an inspiring one. A journey from a small town in Himachal Pradesh in India to the USA is itself motivating. And within the next couple of years (2006-2008) Khali was the buzzword. He defeated everyone who came in his way. Even the great WWE wrestlers like the Undertaker, Batista, Kane or even the Triple H had to surrender before the giant’s supreme power. The WWE fans will always miss his unusual finishing moves like the Chokeslam and Khali Chop (Brain Chop).
