New Delhi, November 06, 2014: Nike today inaugurated its Nike+ Run Club (N+RC) in New Delhi with Nike athlete Parthiv Patel and celebrity runner, Gul Panag on hand for the celebration. Six years after Nike launched the first-ever run club in India, N+RC has grown into a strong community of thousands of registered runners across Mumbai and Bengaluru, making this already one of the largest running communities in the country. Now the N+RC is coming to New Delhi.
All around the world, Nike+ Run Clubs train everyday athletes to achieve their personal bests, and help them to realize their full potential by providing participants with overall conditioning, training tips, expert advice, inspiring experiences and Nike product trialing, all overseen by expert Nike coaches.
For Delhi’s N+RC participants, Nike has brought two of the most inspirational and experienced coaches in the country, Ian Ladbrooke and Rupinder Singh
Ian Ladbrooke has vast experience in races in India and around the world. Ladbrooke has trained many international U.K. and Kenyan runners for global competitions as well as being a sought-after motivational speaker. Rupinder Singh is a former national junior athletics champion and he currently coaches close to 20 National and Delhi State Champion runners in Delhi.
N+RC provides runners with endurance training, speed workouts and core conditioning specific to each runner’s goals. N+RC coaches will also provide runners the opportunity to train on the race route for the upcoming race, to understand and master the course ahead of race day.
“Delhi has a very passionate and enthusiastic group of runners and we are thrilled to launch the Nike+ Run Club in New Delhi,” said Avinash Pant, Marketing Director, Nike India. “We are already seeing some great traction at N+RC Delhi over the past few weeks, and we are truly encouraged by the response. We are sure that the numbers will get even bigger to make N+RC Delhi one of the strongest running communities in the city.”
Runners can also download the Nike+ running app to help train during the week. Nike+ is ecosystem of product and services that leverage the power of NikeFuel. Runners can also train on Nike+ through the advanced Coach feature that allows runners to create a personalized training schedule. Nike+ can be downloaded on iOS and android.
“Nike+ Run Club will truly focus on transforming everyday athletes to dedicated runners by providing them with some of the best training practices and professional advice,” said Ian Ladbrooke, Head Coach, Nike+ Run Club, Delhi. “We are dedicated to making Nike+ Run Club a vibrant community for both amateur and expert runners in Delhi”.
The Nike+ Run Club also provides runners with information on the ideal running footwear and apparel. Periodically, the N+RC will offer gait analysis to help runners understand their unique running styles and appropriately equip them with the information they need to choose the right footwear.
Nike+ Run Club Delhi events will take place on weekends at 6 am at Nehru Park (Gate no: 2). Runners can register for the N+RC at the venue for free. Runners can get also more information on N+RC and Nike products and services on the Nike Running India Facebook page.
