Ludhiana, Nov 7: Ludhiana, which has been one of the most popular venues in the inaugural Wave Kabaddi League will once again be the focal point for the next two weekends.
Ludhiana, which hosted matches in September, will stage as many as 16 matches over the next two weekends November 8-11, 2014 and November 14-16, 2014 at the P.A.U, Hockey Stadium, Ludhiana. On November 9 and 14, there will be three matches, while other days will see two matches each.
With the Wave WKL now entering the final stages, Lahore Lions and Yo Yo Tigers will play six matches each over next two weeks, while United Singhs, Punjab Thunder and Vancouver Lions will play four matches each. California Eagles and Royal Kings USA will play three matches each and table toppers Khalsa Warriors will play only two matches, giving all others a chance to close the gap.
Khalsa Warriors is leading the pack with 31 points from 18 games, California Eagles has 20 points from 17 matches and United Singhs has 18 points from 16 matches played till now.
Punjab Thunder has 17 points from 16 matches played till now and is placed at the fourth position in the points table.
Lahore Lions, Vancouver Lions and Royal Kings USA are at the 5th, 6thand 7th position. Yo Yo Tigers is placed at the bottom with 9 points on the table.
Speaking on the return of the Wave WKL to Ludhiana, Mr. Pargat Singh, Commissioner, Wave WKL, said, “The response of the Kabaddi fans in Ludhiana has been amazing. Our last visit to the city saw high TV Viewership and packed stadium. We expect to revive the magic over the next two weeks with action packed Kabaddi performances.”

The support which we received from the fans here was fabulous so we felt it was only logical that we come back here once again to Ludhiana. This time we will be present in the city for seven days spread across two weekends so that everyone is in the grip of Kabaddi fever.”
The Wave WKL has travelled through seven different cities in two continents – Europe and Asia. The Wave WKL matches have so far been held in spectacular locations like O2 Arena, London; LG Arena, Birmingham; Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium New Delhi; PAU Grounds in Ludhiana, Rajindra College Bathinda, Surjit Hockey Stadium Jalandhar, Guru Nanak Dev University Hockey Stadium, Amritsar, Hockey Stadium, Mohali and Aishbag Hockey Stadium in Bhopal.
