Chelsea’s season so far reflects a perfect fairy tale kick start to their English Premier League title hunt. The new signings have worked as wonder for Jose Mourinho. Experts and fans are already terming them the favorites to win the EPL this year. It has been quite a few weeks for the side. They have dominated all their matches in the domestic league so far and have looked better than ever. It is a surprise as Chelsea is performing a brand of football which is not associated with them. Last season they came third in the title race and lost to Atletico Madrid in the semi finals of the Champions League.
Chelsea’s dominance
Their magical transformation is because of their latest summer signings which has enabled the team to such great heights in the opening weeks of the league. Diego Costa has made his way from Atletico to Chelsea along with fellow teammates Courtois and Filipe Luis. Cesc Fabregas has also signed for the Blues. The team also comprises of other quality players like Eden Hazard, Ivanovic, Willian, John Terry and Gary Cahill. With all the stars in the team, Diego Costa has been the standout. He has scored an incredible seven goals in only four games for the Blues. The team has also scored 16 goals in their first five matches in the Premiere League so far. They have also conceded seven times too.

The entertaining football displayed by the side is something very fresh for the fans after their over defensive play last season. The defense of Chelsea was highly praised last season but it had also limited their fire power going forward. There had been doubts about their attack. A lot of times in the previous season Chelsea have sat back and were happy to defend throughout an entire match which had cost them dearly. The new transfers and the new faces in the team along with the existing players have helped the team in building their attacking football. Chelsea so far are the great entertainers and have scored and conceded more goals after five matches than any previous Mourinho team. With Cesc Fabregas conducting from deep and Eden Hazard a devious presence further up, Chelsea will always carry a potent goal threat.
The only match Chelsea had failed to win this season was the tie against Schalke on Wednesday in their first Champions League game where they drew 1-1. Their defense has to improve as the attack looks to keep their dominating run in all the competitions. Chelsea’s next challenge is on Sunday when they meet Manchester City in the crucial EPL match. Roman Abramovich has always wanted an exciting Chelsea team and it seems he is getting his wish.
