Bangalore, 27th Feb 2013: After a stellar performance in the BDFA League, where they were placed second, South United Football Club is now looking forward to playing the I-League 2.
South United FC hopes to continue this winning streak in the upcoming I-League 2, particularly with the inspiration of Noel Wilson, who recently joined on as a team mentor.

The 33-year old has previously represented India for 5 years, including the 2002 World Cup qualifying matches. He has played for various clubs in the country during his career that spans over 15 years.
“I have been in Indian football for around 16 years and would like to contribute my experiences to the young talented kids who are the future of Indian football. I was invited for one of the match in Bangalore and was impressed by the performance of SOUTH UNITED Football Team with all young energetic players, and thought this would be the best platform for developing many young talented football players in India,” Noel Wilson said.
“Noel is a stellar Mid-fielder who has so much more to offer both on and off the pitch. His achievements on the field and the way he carries himself off the field are a great example for our young players hence we think bringing him on board as a mentor will greatly help in guiding and preparing our young footballers for the bigger leagues. He will also share is experience and expertise through training and coaching our youngsters in the academy. Great to have him on board,” Lokknath R. Char, CEO of Lokko Sports, said.
South United FC recently also recruited Lalawm Puia, the former striker of Mumbai FC and Mohun Bagan; Abhishek Aich, formerly of Port Trust (West Bengal) and Vinoth Kumar, formerly of HAL, Bangalore to the team.
Several players from South United FC recently scored many goals for Karnataka in the recently concluded Santhosh Trophy.
With these experienced players, SUFC hopes to improve its chances in its debut in the I-League 2, which starts on 11th March in Bangalore.
