Wilfried Zaha has admitted that he is looking forward to play in the Premier League and would like to take that opportunity in the January transfer window. The winger has been linked with a host of clubs after impressing for Ian Holloway’s promotion chasing side. The 20 year old who made his England debut as a second half substitute against Sweden in November, has scored five goals in 24 appearances this season.
He admitted that he is ready to leave Crystal Palace in the January transfer window. Playing over 100 first-team games has given him a lot of confidence and is looking forward to take his football development career to the next level.
Zaha could be the subject of an auction among Tottenham Hotspurs, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal, with a few other clubs monitoring the winger, whose price would be around 10million Euros. There has not been a formal bid for the winger but Crystal Palace are expecting official interest to be lodged during the winter transfer window. Palace want to keep hold of Zaha as he has a five year contract with the club but it would be very difficult to do so since Zaha, himself has expressed his desire to play in the premier league.
If he is to be sold Palace are keen to do business in the first week of the transfer window so as to use the fee to bring two or three players to reinforce the squad. Crystal Palace are fourth in the Championship, four points behind Hull in the second of the automatic promotion places.
Zaha has scored 12 times since coming on as a substitute against Cardiff City in 2010. Born in Ivory Coast, he came to prominence with a dazzling performance against United in Crystal Palace’s 2-1 win at Old Trafford. Fabio-da-Silva was booked during the game when he tried to stop the powerful runs from Wilfried Zaha. Zaha is from the same production line as Victor Moses, who was sold for 2.5 million Euros to Wigan Athletic two years ago before Chelsea bought him last summer for 9 million Euros.
Crystal Palace will attempt to deflect an anticipated bid of 3million Euros from Norwich City by offering the championship’s leading goal scorer, Glenn Murray, a new contract at Selhurst Park. Murray has scored 22 goals this season for Palace.
