He also took 381 ODI wickets (380 for Australia and 1 for ICC World XI) with an average of 22.02 and is the joint-highest wicket-taker for Australia with Brett Lee.
McGrath was a part and lead bowler for the Australian side that won three consecutive world cups- 1999, 2003 and 2007. He still holds the record for the highest number of wickets taken by a bowler in World Cup matches, claiming 71 to his name. He also has the best bowling figures 7-15 which was achieved against Namibia during 2003 WC.
Apart from being a miraculous player, McGrath is also involved with social welfare. He along with his Wife Jane McGrath founded the McGrath foundation to spread awareness about Breast Cancer and provide each and every possible medical as well as financial help.
