Mario Balotelli and Roberto Mancini were involved in a physical combat at Manchester City’s training ground in an incident believed to have been provoked by a bad tackle on the former Swansea player Scott Sinclair.
Mario Balotelli clashed with his manager in front of team-mates at their Carrington base while the squad were preparing for their FA Cup third round match against Watford. This incident is certain to revive speculation over Balotelli’s future, despite Mancini having repeatedly rejected the idea of selling him during the winter transfer window. The already fragile career of Mario Balotelli may have reached breaking point after the Italian striker fought with the Manchester City manager today.
The pair were pictured at City’s training ground pulling each other’s clothes before being separated by colleagues. This incident may well force a transfer for Mario Balotelli. A major reason why Balotelli is still at Manchester City is support from the club owner, Shiekh Mansour. Mancini has also revealed that the Sheikh is a fan of the 22-year old who starred at Euro 2012, believing him to be a good export for the City brand. However, negative incidents such as the one which happened today are perhaps not the kind of image Sheikh Mansour will want to project.
The Italian striker has been involved in numerous incidents after joining City. Here are some the incidents:
- CAR CRASH – just days after joining City, he was involved in an accident while he was on his way to the training ground.
- “WHO IS WILSHERE” – After edging past Jack Wilshere to win the FIFA’s young player of the year award, he told in an interview that he hadn’t heard about Wilshere.
- RED CARD 1 – He scores his first premier league goal against West Brom and gets sent- off after clashing with Mulumbu.
- DART THROWER – He threw a dart at a City youth team player.
- AMAZING BACK HEEL – He tries to back-heel when he was clear on goal and sends it way wide and immediately gets substituted for attempting such foolish thing.
- RED CARD 2 – He gets sent off for a reckless challenge on Popov in Europa League match.
- FIREWORKS – He sets off fireworks in the bathroom of his house, triggering a fire.
- RED CARD 3 – He gets two yellow cards and gets sent off after coming on as a substitute against Liverpool.
Balotelli has been involved in many more incidents such as clashing with his team mate Richards, stamping Scott Parker and the list never seems to end. To sum up, we can clearly see that the Italian striker’s future at the club is in real doubt.
