Luis Suarez might be a villain in England and in many other parts of the World, but he is the hero for Liverpool fans. The famous Reds would be at the bottom of the table if it wasn’t for this man. Sheer Brilliance and sublime skill from the Uruguayan was too much to handle for Redknapp’s struggling QPR.
Liverpool took the lead in the 10th minute through Suarez, the Number 7 dribbled past some poor piece of defending from QPR and then slotted the ball in past Julio Caesar to put the visitors one up.
Then six minutes later, Suarez made a run into the box and received the ball from Downing, he then attempted a cross to Sterling who was also dashing into the box. The ball was blocked and it fell to Suarez again who finished of emphatically with his left foot past a helpless Julio Caesar who had committed himself to the cross.
Liverpool extended their lead again and this time it was the Denmark Captain and the loyal man Danile Agger who scored. Agger headed in from a Steven Gerrard corner. This was Agger’s first way goal in the Premier League and his second goal for Liverpool this season. With the 3rd goal coming minutes before the half an hour mark Liverpool looked like they would score more than Chelsea did against Aston Villa recently.
QPR were really poor, they did very little to upset the reds. It was more like a practice match for the visitors. Liverpool dealt with the rare QPR attack at ease. Daniel Agger and Enrique were brilliant for Liverpool. The Spanish full back made dangerous runs down the wing using his speed and strength to his advantage.
Steven Gerrard then came close to scoring for the fourth game running, something he hasn’t done in 5 years now. He was brilliantly set up by Suarez. The Reds and England captain then fired in his shot only to be saved off the line.
Liverpool did not show the same urgency in the second half, QPR attacked mainly through Taraabt but most of their shots were from outside the box.
Liverpool had traveled to Loftus Road without Brendan Rodgers, who was ill. The Reds Manager must have been happy with his team’s performance. Liverpool had dropped Shelvey who was poor against Stoke to the bench and in came Jordan Henderson who once again used his first team opportunity with a brilliant performance once again showing why he should play more often. Joe Allen and Sterling returned to the starting lineup and dropped to the bench were Lucas and Suso.
Liverpool showed great character to bounce back from their mid week embarrassment against Stoke. They looked more like the team that trashed Fulham 4-0 at home a week earlier.
Liverpool did well to keep a clean sheet although Pepe Reina had very little to do, The Spanish Stopper dealt with whatever was thrown at him very well and there was very little to trouble a keeper of his stature.
There was a moment of concern in the second half when Jose Enrique pulled up with what looked like a Hamstring injury. He was instantly replaced with Suso and Downing moved to left back.
Carragher made brief came in the end replacing Allen.
Overall it was a great performance by the reds. They now move into the top half of the league once again and are now 9th in the league. Luis Suarez once again proved why he is such a key figure in Liverpool’s plan to rebuild the squad.
