Tonight is the induction of the biggest sonata of not just the year but the coming four years. The 2012 London Olympics will stage athletes, coaches, staff and supporters from all over the globe and is going to be truly an event to experience.
Seven long years have gone into the making of the coming few weeks. From sound to lights to stadiums to the sports village, sincere efforts have been put in making sure that this year’s Olympics surpasses the extravaganza of the last and will be remembered during the next.
Renowned celebs, singers, performers and musicians are ready to give their audiences the best of the best performances and sizzle the stage with style and statement. The weather looks to be compromising, the preparations are all secured, and the viewers await the inauguration of the world’s best.
Of course comparisons with the last of the Olympics held in Beijing. But London promises to stage an elaborate games of itself. The President of the organizing committee and the other staff not only promise to deliver an exceptional sporting action throughout but also perform to win the most number of medals.
It does not mean that there have not been a fair share of controversies surrounding the event even before the lighting of the torch but controversies to mega events are inevitable.
India is sending its own troupe of contenders in full hopes to bring back more medals than the last Olympics. From archery, to badminton and wrestling, there are high and hopeful chances for the country’s athletes.
In total, there are 304 sporting events that will take place. Right after the opening ceremony has been showcased, the next two weeks will have the track&field as well as swimming action. From Bolt and Blake to Phelps, Lochte, each event has more than one contender that will fight to the best of his/her ability to snatch the gold.
The London streets were overflowing with excessive traffic and jams that extended for hours and hours but the last few days have been rather organized. The athletes have arrived, the locals are avoiding the hot spots and diversions seem to be finally working.
