Entries have always been welcoming and exits will always be nostalgic but what a spectacular season to make an exit from! There were tidbits of news and gossip that Didier Drogba will leave the team after this season however there was no official confirmation from the player, until now. Didier Drogba finally declared that he will be leaving Chelsea and he does so with a penalty kick!
Saturday’s match is still running fresh in everyone’s minds as the win came to Chelsea with a penalty kick from Drogba that will be hard to ever forget. Chelsea snatched and seized the trophy beating Bayern Munich in a finals that was both unexpected and nerve racking.
Drogba’s contract officially expires in the coming June but the 34 year leaves the club with proud statistics. The club’s official website had Drogba’s statement in which he said that after careful speculation and lots of thinking he decided that new challenges elsewhere await him.
“It has been a very difficult decision for me to make and I am very proud of what we have achieved but the time is right for a new challenge for me.”
So far Drogba has been part of several astounding victories including three Premier Leagues, four FA Cups, two League Cups and now one European Champions League. He ahs scored 154 goals right from 2004 when he signed from West London Club. Besides being nominated for prestigious awards and winning them like Player of the Year, Drogba has a huge price tag attached to him.
He recalls the game on Saturday and says that the day will never be forgotten. The whole team deserves every bit of the accolades and appreciation they are getting. He the expressed his thanks to the team, the coach and of course his fans.

All his teammates too have been saying the best of things about Drogba as he leaves to something new.
