Manchester City’s new signing Samir Nasri fractured his left hand during playing for France in their 2012 Euro Qualifiers against Romania. According to the media Nasri suffered a fracture to the fifth metatarsal in his left hand. The match ended in a goalless draw. This draw puts France at the top of Group D in the Euro Qualifiers. France remains unbeaten in 13 games after this result. Regarding the scrappy performance of his France side coach Laurent Blanc said – “We have regrets since we didn’t manage to score the goal that would have allowed us to take three points. We didn’t manage to break forward as quickly as I had hoped, but the state of the pitch played a big role in it … Romania clearly had the advantage from this.”
France coach Laurent Blanc didn’t put Nasri in the lineup from the start and he only came on after 75 minutes replacing Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye. Nasri was unable to make much impact and the match ended 0-0. It is being stated that, Nasri suffered the injury at the end of the game. According to French media – “The France international was seen returning to the bench towards the end of the match to be treated and will have additional tests on his return to England in order to see what the injury is for sure.” Though Nasri have gone back to Manchester City but they still haven’t released an official statement regarding Nasri’s Injury. Nasri who played just one game in the Manchester City shirt now will have to sit out for some of their games depending upon the seriousness of his injury. Nasri looked to have settled down well and showed his class by creating havoc in the opposition defense in their last game against Bolton. Manchester City will definitely miss his creativity in the middle of the park. But the number of quality replacements City has in their disposal mite well not affect them as much.
