An unwilling, unhappy, unfit for the team, last year captain and this year villain for Manchester City.
A day after the Manchester City manager Mancini said the Tevez chapter at City must be closed, Carlos Tevez was suspended for next two weeks and the team management will be investigating their Champions league match against Bayern Munich in which the war was broken out. Carlos Tevez has represented city at 65 times scoring 43 goals. He also led them for the historic FA cup final victory against Stoke City at last season.
Earlier yesterday, Tevez came out and said, “I would like to apologize to all Manchester City fans, with whom I have always had a strong relationship, for any misunderstanding that occurred in Munich. In Munich on Tuesday I had warmed up and was ready to play. This is not the right time to get into specific details as to why this did not happen. But I wish to state that I never refused to play. There was some confusion on the bench and I believe my position may have been misunderstood. Going forward I am ready to play when required and to fulfill my obligations”. But his public apology went in vain since both Manchester City management and manager refused to accept it. It is now very clear that Tevez is almost done at English football.
It looks like there won’t be any compromise this time. Man City wants to take stern action and also will wait till Janauary eagerly to release him. Roberto Mancini, Man City manager is strong in his stand that he wants Tevez out of the team immediately. He said at end of the match, “In the next day I’m sure I will speak with Khaldoon [al-Mubarak] because he is the chairman and he will decide everything but let me ask a question: Do you think at Bayern Munich a player would ever behave like this? At Milan? At Manchester United? No. That is the answer. It is the same for everyone”.
The Man City club also issued the statement confirming the action, “Tevez has been suspended until further notice for a maximum period of two weeks. The player’s suspension is pending a full review into his alleged conduct during Tuesday evening’s 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich. The player will not be considered for selection or take part in training whilst the review is under way”.
This is not the first time Tevez has been in the middle of controversies. From the time he joined the English club, he paired well with controversies. After sparking great controversy by moving from Manchester United to City, he still managed to win all the hearts of City fans and he was rightly given the leadership arm-band. Man City treated him like a hero but Tevez doesn’t like this role for long. He turned into villain from the time summer holiday started. He wanted to leave but strangely he was unsold during the transfer market even after he made statements against the Cities. But he will leave soon and Man City will be better off without him.
No player is bigger than team ever!
