He denies it, however it would not be difficult to say that Arsene Wenger may be a little apprehensive with the gunners this season. Many see Wenger under pressure as the team struggle to stay strong this campaign.
Their last game against Blackburn was certainly a sweat breaker as the game ended at 4-3.
Wenger says that their team this year is a mixed bag with young and experienced players. There ought to be a little technique confusion however the team should take over their position in no time.
“We took a gamble and it worked because you could see some players that we haven’t seen so much, like Oxlade-Chamberlain and [Francis] Coquelin, have done extremely well and that is positive for the future.”
The crowd of 46,500 fans in the Emirates Stadium were chanting Arsene’s name, cheering and supporting their team whom they have been with for so many years. Wenger said that he has been with the team for 14 years now and hopes that he would be able to continue for another 14 years. Ups and downs were part of the game and he was ready to take it all right from the start he said.
“When we do well we take all the plaudits, so we have to take as well all the blame when it doesn’t go as well – but we have as well on both sides to take some distance.
Up until now, Wenger has been the pillar to the team; unshaken, stable and strong. The team administration clarify to the rumors saying that they are very lucky to have such an experienced and dedicated member to the Arsenal family; someone who will give it all he has for the team.
There also have been rumors of the club being financially unsound this season however the authorities deny any truth to such statements. They say that the club is financially stable and all the success over the years has put Arsenal on a platform that will be sturdy in the years to come.
Even though the team may be struggling a little, there seems to be only voices of encouragement for Wenger and his team.
“The portrayals of him as being a broken man could not be further from the truth. Arsene is incredibly focused on what he needs to do and addressing the issues that he has seen” said Gazidis.
