Apart from the Indian golfers, there is Carolina Acebo, a Dubai-based Mexican golfer who will be joining in.
The first round that finished Wednesday had Aditi Ashok, a newcomer playing alongside professionals, made a spotless start as she started bogey-free. She has a one-shot lead after day 1 in the tournament. Aditi is just 13 years of age. She shot a card at 70 with two birdies with no bogeys. The two birdies came in at 9th and 13th.
Aditi was delighted after the day’s performance and said that she was happy with the way she played. She played almost without any errors and that too in her first ever performance. She surely is being looked out for by the other players in the tournament. She wants to keep on playing more tournaments after this and gain all the expertise and experience as she can, she says, before she can call herself a pro.
Aditi has played in a couple of international matches however she is still am amateur as compared to the other players and is not intimidated by the fact.
Just behind Aditi is Neha Tripathy and Saaniya Sharma. Both of them 71 at par 72 on day 1 of the match.
This, however, is just day 1 as day 2 will bring its own surprises.
