Argentina have been knocked out of the Copa America and it seems like Carlos Tevez who was adamant to leave his current club Manchester City will have to go back there. Tevez publicly said that he doesn’t want to play for City from the next season, but the recently rejected bid for the striker by Corinthians has made his future unclear.
Tevez wanted to go back to either Argentina or Brazil because he was felling homesick and was having family problems. The 27 year old Argentine was set touted to move to Corinthians after they bid £40 million for Tevez. But cash rich Manchester City who had Tevez tied up till 2015 wanted a £50 million bid to let the striker go. Corinthians now have backed out of the deal and this makes Tevez’s move uncertain. The hefty price tag is a big stumbling block for many clubs but let’s look which clubs can be Tevez’s destination in the next season:
Real Madrid – The most high profile club in the world who are not afraid to splash the cash as well. Jose Mourinho has also said that he wants to add another striker into his already star studded team and a player like Carlos Tevez fits the bill perfectly. Madrid also have fellow Argentines Higuain and Angel Di Maria, Fernando Gago and Garay to accompany Tevez. Also the chemistry between Tevez and Ronaldo is good as because they both played for Manchester United. But Madrid also have several other options to choose from. They have been gunning for Neymar and also Tevez’s countrymen Sergio Aguero.
Inter Milan – With Goran Pandev and Diego Milito looking to leave the San Siro, Inter need to reshuffle their forward line. A dynamic player like Tevez will do them a world of good and the Tevez ,Eto or Pazzini partnership is just they need. Inter also have many South American players with whom Tevez can fell at home. Inter also have Javier Zanetti as their captain who was also a former Argentina captain. So the language barrier won’t be an issue here.
Chelsea – Roman Abramovich has never been afraid to splash cash. He spent £50 million to bring in Fernando Torres in the January transfer window. He might do the same to bring in Tevez as well. But at the moment Chelsea needs a good play maker or a midfielder who can link up the play. They already have the likes of Drogba, Torres, Anelka in their arsenal. So the move seems unlikely but you never know with Chelsea.
If nothing works out then Tevez will remain a City player. But it will be interesting to see how the Man City fans will react after his arrival at the Etihad Stadium. Mancini also knows the importance of Tevez and said he will welcome him at the club anytime. Though Sergio Aguero has talent but it will be hard for him to replace a player of Tevez’s caliber and produce instant results.
