Argentine Javier Pastore, the much acclaimed youngster, had declared in the past week that he would leave his present club Palermo, and that the chances of him staying were only “10%”. Now club president Maurizio Zamparini has claimed that a major club has made a €45 million offer for the 22 year old.
Talking to Radio Radio, he said that, “They are an important European outfit. I spoke to their sporting director and I told them to talk to the player’s agent.
“The person with whom I talked to asked me to lower Pastore’s price from €50 million to €45 million. I’m only accepting cash though and no player exchanges.
“Roma need to hurry up if they want him as I think the situation will be resolved in the next ten days. I’ve not heard from anyone at Roma, though, even if it would be nice if Pastore did continue to play his football in Italy.”
In addition to stating his desire to move to a bigger club, Pastore also admitted that he would prefer to stay in Italy. He added that he would prefer AC Milan over alleged suitors Roma.
Though Pastore didn’t have much first team action in Argentina’s brief run in the Copa America, he is viewed as one of the most technically gifted midfielders.
Now that Argentina’s campaign has been ended in the Copa America, Pastore’s future is going to be cleared up in a few days, as was his intention.
