The inflow of Qatari money at Malaga continues, as does their summer shopping spree. Villarreal’s Santi Cazorla is the latest player who is on the threshold of joining the team. Malaga will play a fee of €22 million for the midfielder, who is to agree to the personal terms.
The deal will be finalised in a day or two and the Spanish international has apparently already bid farewell to his team mates at the Yellow Submarine. He has confirmed to as that the deal is almost over.
“The club needs to sell [this summer] and I’ve made the final decision. Everything is being finalised and finally a new chapter is about to begin in my life,” he stated.
Cazorla was on the radar of Arsenal, but as ever the Gunners have failed to sign anyone impressive as of now and continue to be wary of a host of exits from the club. The futures of key players Fabregas, Nasri and Eboue appear uncertain.
Malaga have now had an impressive influx of summer transfers. Ruud van Nistelrooy, Jeremy Toulalan and Joaquin were the previous acquisitions for Manuel Pellegrini’s team. Demichelis arrived in the winter transfer window and the club have made an audacious bid for Inter’s Lucio.
