Inter Milan right back Maicon, who almost made a move to Real Madrid last season, might just succeed this time. He has said that he would consider his future after the on-going Copa America.
Inter demanded a huge sum in the region of €35 million for him last season. Real looked almost certain to snare him up, but negotiations fell through. This time around, with only one year left on his contract, Inter would be more willing to sell him and at a lower price too.
His form also faltered the last season and the “Nerazzuri” will look to milk as much dough as they can. Maicon was on the bench in Brazil’s match against Venezuela, with Barcelona’s Dani Alves starting ahead of him.
He is quoted as saying by Il Corriere dello Sport “I am happy at Inter, but we will speak about Real Madrid and Inter after the Copa. I want to win a trophy with Brazil and this is my only objective right now.”
Maicon will be interested in a reunion with former coach Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid, with whom he shares a good relation.
