It all comes down to this, the Wimbledon Men’s singles finals on Sunday as the top seeds have battled down the wire to make it to the finals of the 125th Wimbledon. Yes, defending champion Rafael Nadal will face Novak Djokovic at the centre court on Sunday afternoon.
The first semi-final match on the centre court was between Tsonga and Djokovic. Tsonga was riding high on confidence mainly after he defeated Roger Federer in the quarter finals. But it was all together a different game for Tsonga. With so much hype Djokovic eased with a comfortable win 7-6, 6-2, 6-7, 6-3 but that was a certainly a great outing for the budding Tsonga. On the other match at the centre courtNadal took on the crowd favorite Andy Murray. Nadal played with ease and never looked like he sustained an injury scare. Whenever Nadal won a point hardly any pair of hands grasped together which is a rare sight but the situation might change in the finals. Nadal is a true fighter and never underestimate Nadal after winning a set because you are about to face the toughest challenge from the greatest fighter yet to be born. Even though Murray got the best in the first set, Nadal sent him packing in 4 sets in just under 3 hours, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2, 6-4. All Murray could do was to wave back at his fans and be contented with the Queen’s title.
The 2 time Wimbledon and defending champion Nadal is confident enough to outclass the title favorite Djokovic on Sunday. Nadal though being satisfied having pocketed 10 grand slams says he is still hungry. The 25 year old is not hampered about the ratings and will appear for the 5th time desperate to put his previous meetings with Nadal in proper place. Though Nadal leads 16-11 in head to head finals, Djokovic has tipped him 4 times this calendar year but Nadal will ride high that he has outperformed the Serbian in all the 5 of their matches in Grand Slam events. On the other hand Djokivic is enjoying the season of his life just losing 1out of the 50 matches he has played in 2011. He believes to control proceedings before the defending champion could take over him. With the odds being against Nadal and given the high share of stakes, the Australian Open winner is tipped favorite to claim the title of the 125th edition of Wimbledon.
