Kun Aguero, arguably the most impressive of Argentina’s squad at the Copa America, is nearing a move to Manchester City and is set to travel to England on Wednesday to complete his transfer, Spanish reports have claimed.
The Atletico Madrid striker had earlier stated his intention and desire to move to a new club and an array of teams have been involved and linked with the 23 year old. After reports that Atletico refused to sell their star man to crosstown rival Real Madrid, Juventus were supposedly in line to sign him up.
But the Bianconeri failed to meet the asking price of €45 million and have now turned their attention to another want-away striker in the name of Giuseppe Rossi. Manchester City seems to be the eventual destination for the Argentine now.
Roberto Mancini, City’s manager, had stated that he hoped to complete Aguero’s transfer “in the near future”.
Carlos Tevez, Aguero’s international team mate, has declared that he would like to move closer to his family. Aguero is likely to be seen as the replacement for City’s captain. With Edin Dzeko disappointing after his transfer from Wolfsburg and Mario Balotelli getting into trouble every other week, Aguero would be a key to City’s future plans.
