The Merseyside’s pursuit of Blackpool captain Charlie Adam has finally ended after almost six months. Initial reports suggest that the fee is £7 plus a player (either on loan or as a permanent signing)
Liverpool failed to sign him in the January window as Blackpool were adamant to keep their star man to try and ensure their survival in the Premiership. Even Adam didn’t suffice to accomplish their mission and Blackpool were relegated.
Adam had insisted that he wanted to move back to the Premiership, and Liverpool seemed to be the destined employers. Now Adam will feature in the Reds’ bid to regain Champions League football. But talks fell through quite a few times as Liverpool refused to meet Blackpool’s evaluation of £9 million.
The arrivals of Adam and that of Henderson before him will now most certainly push out Anfield flops Poulsen, Cole and Aquilani. Liverpool are also expected to offload players Konchesky and Jovanovic, along with youngster N’Gog, who has failed to impress.
