The Spaniard Cesc Fabregas has admitted his frustration due to Arsenal’s lackluster performances year after year but maintains that he is happy at the Emirates. The midfielder also revealed that no decision has been reached regarding his future at the club.
The Fabregas – Barcelona link up just does not seem to fade. The Arsenal skipper, Cesc Fabregas continues to be linked to the Catalans Giants Barcelona. But this time it looks certain that the Arsenal star might make a return to Barcelona, where he started his career in Barcelona in a youth club before moving to the Emirates as a teenager.
However, Fabregas states that no decision has been reached over his future and admitted that the Gunner managers, Arsenal Wenger will decide where the Spaniard plays next season. Fabregas, who missed the closing weeks of the season due to injury woes, revealed that he has neither spoken nor has he seen Wenger since early May.
Although Fabregas admitted that he was indeed frustrated due to Arsenal’s lack of recent success, the Spaniard remains positive that his team can end their 6-year drought.
Fabregas stated “A player who is not frustrated at not winning titles is either lying to himself or lacks ambition.”
“There is a good team and a good manager and one of the most faithful fan bases in Europe. With those I believe we can make progress and one day win an important trophy.
“I am an Arsenal player. I have been very happy for eight years and I am very happy. I am not thinking about football right now, just about my holidays.
Talking about Fabregas future, he said that Wenger totally has it in his hands to decide about the Spaniard’s future.
Fabregas further added “There have been no decisions. The truth is that it doesn’t always depend on the player and at the moment I don’t know anything.”
“Wenger is the boss, the one who makes the decisions. You should ask him. I was injured at the end of the season and I haven’t seen him for about six weeks.
“I am very happy where I am. Anything else would be speculation that is untrue. You can never say never in this life as so many things happen that you can never predict.”
What happens this summer is far away from thinking. Will Fabregas return back to Barcelona? Will Wenger be able to hold on Fabregas? All these questions must be wandering around the newspapers and troubling the fans. All that the fans must be praying right now is that the Spaniard stays and help Arsenal to end their 6-year drought next season.
