The highest goal scorer in the La Liga history, Cristiano Ronaldo stated that he would sacrifice his prolific goal scoring form if it means winning the league and Champions League with Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo says that he is prepared to sacrifice his relentless goal scoring tally if it helps the team to win more titles next season. Despite winning the Copa del Rey title, beating their arch rivals Barcelona, Real Madrid suffered a disappointing season, going down to Champions, Barcelona twice; once in the League and another in Champions League Semi-Finals, which would have hurted the most and missed out on the La-Liga and Champions League Title for yet another season.
Ronaldo netted 53 goals in the 2010-2011 season in all competitions for Real Madrid. Ronaldo became the highest goal-scorer in the history of Spanish League, scoring 40 goals, and after helping his team win the Copa Del Rey, the Portuguese in keen to win more titles next season.
Ronaldo stated following Portugal’s 1-0 win over Norway in Euro Qualifiers “I would prefer not to score as many goals and win more titles.”
During the Euro Qualifiers, a group of fans whistled at the winger during Portugal’s 1-0 crucial win over Norway. However, the winger stated that the noise does not divert his attention and is of very little concern.
Ronaldo said “I don’t listen to anything. I am happy for the result. Paulo Bento’s arrival has improved the team which is now solid, confident and mature and this is why we are first in the group.”
Portugal, Denmark and Norway are all level on 10 points in Group H, but Portugal is ahead on goal difference.
The fans at the Bernabeu would surely love to see Madrid lift more trophies next season, but would want the winger to keep on with his scintillating goal scoring form and help Real Madrid to lift more trophies next season.
