Perhaps This is What “They” Would Have Said! Those who watched the French Open Semifinal matches, live or over the television would have said this. This is merely an imaginary conversational extrapolation with no offence on any player, blended with a bit of news.
The Fans of the greatest star of tennis, John McEnroe, including the Indian Little Master, Sachin Tendulkar might have uttered that “Hey Kid [Djokovik]! You cannot just easily break my Guru’s record of 42 straight-wins, Grow UP! First…” What McEnroe did was in the dossiers, touching it or breaking it requires much mellowness in the age and in the game perhaps. Novak Djokovic was is just 22, as how Nadal came into the records at his early age, the history repeats itself for Novak with the “Luck God” favoring him, this Serb is not dejected for losing in the semis but it is just a huge shock for him after 41 wins.
Federer fans… may be 50% of the “Tennis Fraternity” will be celebrating the “Return of The King”. Of course the Fereder Regime now flourishes. After a downfall, losing the longest possessed World No. 1 title, a successful comeback is not so easy for any player. With 16 Grand Slams in his kitty, there enters Federer into the Finals of the French Open. He was very much under-stated by the Tennis critics as he lost three matches to Novak this season, adding to it was Novak’s victory over Nadal was almost making him a “Tennis Demigod”.
And the FedeX Army might say… “All Hail!!! O! Federer!”
For Nadal fans, it is just an insipid end, back to square one- A “Fede-Rafa” Climax. But it is not so, for those who really don’t know who they like to watch playing either Rafa or Roger, they fall into the “Intersection Sector” and end up liking both. So, for that majority of players, the typical end may be anticipatory Finals between the World No.1 and No. 3 will be like “drinking a magic portion” which will never satiate and lingers to give a good taste. Same way, watching the most hackneyed, trite Finals between Rafa and Fede, a million times will give a new take-away and experience each time.
The bottom line is just “Don’t fail to watch the Epic Finals.”
