The Dutch International Wesley Sneijder has dismissed all suggestions of him moving out of the San Siro next season.
The midfielder has revealed that he will stay with the Italian Giants for the 2011-2012 season. Sneijder’s future has been a subject of speculation, as the midfielder attracted the English champions Manchester United and was linked to a possible summer sale next season to Old Trafford. However, the Inter attacker has assured everyone in Italy that he is there and rubbished all rumors of him moving to England.
However, Sneijder agent, Soren Lerby, has stated that all the link-ups are just mere rumors and explained that the Dutch is often linked to the big Europeans Club without clear crystal talks and deals. Later, the midfielder also rubbished the reports of his departure from Italy next season.
He said “Next season? I’ll be here.”
The news on Sneijder’s departure started to spark after a disappointing 2010-2011 season. The Dutch has been struggling with injuries this season and Inter Milan has lost their grasp on Serie A title and Champions League Title. Inter lost out to their rivals AC Milan in the Serie A challenge and were given harsh treatment in the Champions League quarter finals by the surprise package team, Schalke. Inspite of losing out on two major titles, the former Madrid player is looking to end the 2010-2011 season on a high, as Inter take on Palermo in Coppa Italia final on Sunday.
Sneijder stated ahead of their final encounter “I’ve been training with the squad without any problems,” he enthused. “I’ll certainly be there against Palermo. I want to play and win the Coppa Italia so that we can end the season in a good manner.”
The midfielder joined Inter Milan from Real Madrid in 2008 summer sale and played in a key role in inspiring Milan to win a historic Treble of Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League, last season under current Real boss, Jose Mourinho. The Dutch scored 4 goals and provided six assists in his 25 league appearances this season as Inter finished second in the Serie A League Table.
The fans in Italy will be cherishing this moment and will be hoping for a better performance next time around from the Dutch and the Milan team. Sneijder is a key player for Inter and his presence for the 2011-2012 season will be surely be a boosting factor for the team.
